Teno

Simple property management for landlords and tenants

Teno keeps rent details, tenant invitations and repair requests in one friendly place, instead of a group chat that gets lost.

What is Teno?

Teno is a property management web app for small landlords and the people who rent from them. Landlords add their properties and units, invite tenants by email, and send rent, paperwork and visit notices by email. Tenants get their own login to see their rent details, read notices and report maintenance problems. Teno is built in Winnipeg, Canada.

For landlords

Properties and units

Keep every property, unit and monthly rent in one list, with up to 10 photos per property so you can tell them apart at a glance.

Invitations that look like you

Invite a tenant by email. The invitation comes from your name or business name, names the unit, and takes them straight to choosing a password.

Notices without the chasing

Email your tenant a rent reminder, a paperwork request, a visit notice or a plain message in a tap. It comes from your name or business name, and their reply comes straight to you.

Invite status at a glance

See who has accepted and who is still pending. Resend an invitation, or cancel one, in a tap.

Maintenance requests

Tenants report problems from their own account. You get an email straight away, they get a confirmation, and every step after that (seen, in progress, resolved) emails you both. See everything in one inbox.

For tenants

Your own login

A real account of your own, not a shared link. Accept your landlord’s invitation and choose a password.

Everything about your home

Your rent amount and due date, your landlord’s contact, and the notices sent to your unit, all in one place.

Report a problem in a minute

Say what’s wrong, pick a type, mark it urgent if it is, and see where your request stands.

How it works

Landlords

  1. Create an account and add your properties and units.
  2. Invite each tenant by email. They set their own password.
  3. Send rent reminders, visit notices and messages by email whenever you need to.

Tenants

  1. Open the invitation email and tap Accept.
  2. Choose a password.
  3. See your rent details and notices, and report a problem when something breaks.

Private by design

A landlord only ever sees their own properties and tenants. A tenant only ever sees their own unit. Property photos are stored privately. These aren’t settings someone can leave unchecked: the database enforces them on every request, for every account.

Questions people ask

What is Teno?

Teno is a property management web app for small landlords and their tenants. Landlords manage properties, units, rent and tenant invitations; tenants get their own login to see rent details and notices and to report maintenance problems.

Who is Teno for?

Landlords with one or a few rental properties who want something friendlier than spreadsheets and text threads, and the tenants who rent from them.

How do I invite a tenant?

Add the property and its unit, press Invite tenant, and enter their name and email. They receive an email from you with a button to accept the invitation and choose a password.

Can tenants report maintenance problems?

Yes. From their own account a tenant describes the problem, picks a type, marks it urgent if needed and sends it. The landlord gets an email and the tenant a confirmation. The landlord sees it in a Requests inbox with urgent ones first, then moves it from new to seen, in progress and resolved, and both of them are emailed at each step.

Can I email my tenants through Teno?

Yes. Send a rent reminder, a paperwork request, a visit notice or a message to everyone living in a unit. It comes from your name or business name, and replies go straight to your email. Automatic reminders on the rent due day are coming soon.

Is my data private?

Yes. A landlord only sees their own properties and tenants, a tenant only sees their own unit, and property photos are stored privately. The database enforces this on every request.

Does Teno work on my phone?

Yes. Teno works in any modern browser on phone or desktop. iOS and Android apps are planned.
